Tonight's NBA Slate only consists of 4 games, 8 teams total which means piecing together lineups can get tricky. Miami and Golden State have the closest spread on the slate (MIA -1.5) and Phoenix holds the highest spread for their game against Minnesota (PHX -4). Although the slate is small, there will be some high scoring games, with 87% of teams tonight expected to score 110+ points. For the DFS side of things, this is a great opportunity to grab some low-end players who can contribute to the scoring.
POINT GUARD
Kyrie Irving ($9,700) - I like picking Kyrie for tonight for two reasons. 1.) There is no Ben Simmons for Brooklyn tonight, which will promote even more usage for him. 2.) Kyrie has posted a 30.4% usage rate which is far more than anyone except KD. He also carries a strong 32% of team points scored which fits his price perfectly.
*VALUE*
Alex Caruso ($4,300) - Caruso is a great value play especially if you need that go to man for extra fantasy points. With no Lonzo Ball, and no production from Coby White the Bulls are in desperate need of someone who can step up and contribute. Caruso isn't carrying a heavy load for the Bulls offense, but his 26.1% TM AST is good enough to be a reliable option for playmaking.
SHOOTING GUARD
Anthony Edwards ($8,100) - Anthony has proven himself to be one of the young phenoms of this league, carrying around a 26.7% usage rate he clearly is a top option for this Minnesota offense. Not only is he used for defense and playmaking, his 28.1% FGA for the team is worthy enough of a lineup spot.
*VALUE*
Royce O'Neale ($4,800) - With a struggling Brooklyn team, they have looked to Royce to hold down the defensive side of the ball as well as grab rebounds. With a high scoring expectancy for tonight's Brooklyn game, I see lots of opportunities for Royce to find the basket and contribute anyway he can. O'neale ranks 6th of the team in team 3-Point Attempt % which could boost his value even higher if he knocks down a couple.
SMALL FORWARD
Kevin Durant ($10,200) - What can't Durant do? Whether it is spot up shooting, fade away jumpers or spin shots Durant ranks one of the all-time greats in terms of getting the tough shots to go in. Like previously mentioned, the Nets are without Ben Simmons for tonight which boosts his team leading usage (33.3%). Also, with TJ Warren awaiting a return, the Nets have focused their scoring mainly through Durant for the small forward position.
*VALUE*
Mikal Bridges ($6,200) - The Suns offense ranks 2nd in team points per game, only behind Golden State. This high scoring offense provides many opportunities for Bridges to not only score but provide solid depth for when the starters are needing a break. Last year we saw a decrease in usage and field goal attempts due to Phoenix mixing and matching the SF position with Jae Crowder. But this year Bridges seems to have finally found his role and has embraced it perfectly.
POWER FORWARD
Draymond Green ($5,700) - Miami holds a 1.5-point favorite over the defending world champions tonight, which means Golden State somehow still has something to prove. Draymond has been a part of an unstoppable team for the past decade and has a clear role shaped out for him. His defense and rebounding abilities are what generates the high scoring fantasy outings. Don't expect 30 points from him, but you can easily expect 7+ rebounds and 4+ assists with Klay Thompson, Jordan Poole, and Steph Curry doing most of the shooting.
*VALUE*
Max Strus ($5,100) - Last year we saw Max shine in the playoffs and throughout the Finals. This year however he has continued to showcase his abilities to knock down the 3-point shot. Strus ranks 3rd on the team in % of 3 Point Shots Attempted which is perfect since Miami will have to keep up with Curry and Thompson as they launch up deep shots.
CENTER
Nikola Vucevic ($7,800) - Nikola holds a 23.4% usage rate which ranks 5th on the Bulls. Not often do you see a center hold such a high rating. This is perfect for a fantasy outlook, since not only does the team heavily rely on him to rebound (43.2% of Team Rebounds) but also can look to for his scoring ability. With a tough matchup against Brooklyn, Nikola should have plenty of opportunities to be involved.
*VALUE*
Nic Claxton ($5,800) - Claxton has emerged as one of the unlikely factors to this struggling Brooklyn team. Claxton plays a heavy defensive role and often finds himself on the court with the starting five, which presents him with not only rebounding hope but also, the chance for more assists and possibly points.
